Potato Vendor Lithograph, 1940s, very small edition. 13 1/8 x 9 1/2 in. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a fine, dark impression with full margins. The condition is very good apart from very minor soiling in the margins. Tanzer was active in New York during the depression era and excelled in lithography. He was a fine draughtsman and was active in the WPA program. SOLD |

Poultry Market Lithograph, 1940s, edition unknown. 15 1/8 x 11 1/2 in. Signed on the stone, lower left, and signed and titled in pencil. This is a fine impression of this rare print. The margins are full and the condition is very good apart from minor soiling in the margins. This large work exemplifies Tanzer's interest in everyday, WPA era subjects. Removal of the 2nd Avenue El (New York) Lithograph, probably done in 1942, small edition. 11 3/8 x 13 5/8 in. Signed and titled in pencil. This is a fine impression with probably the full margins. The condition is excellent. According to records, the 2nd Avenue El in New York was demolished in 1942. This print is an exemplay work by Tanzer whose lithographs documented life and events in New York during the 1940s. SOLD |
