Mezzotint (with additions in pencil by Legros), 1881, Bliss 238 (ii/VI), total edition unknown. 9 7/8 x 7 in. Unsigned. This is a superb impression printed on a sturdy Japanese paper. The margins are full. The condition is quite good with slight rubbing here and there in the margins. This is a unique, working proof with added pencil work in the left blank area as well as to Haden's face, head and suit. From the collection of Arthur Thomas Glen (Lugt 129) who was known for his Legros collection, as well as for his Rembrandts, Meryons and Whistlers.
