The condition is fine other than for minor toning in the margins here and there and stray ink from the printing process. This large work exemplifies her refined skills in the medium of color block printing.

(The margins are narrow on the sides and bottom but this is the original sheet which she chose to print on.) In addition, there is stray printers ink in the outer margins but this is part of the process and typical for Royds. This is an exceptional example of her work. Woodcut printed in colors, 1930s, Barton 66, small edition. 7 7/8 x 6 3/8 in. Signed in pencil. This is a fine impression with full margins. The colors are especially fresh and there are no condition issues. This subtle, nicely-designed work is printed with more opaque colors than most of her block prints. Royds almost never dated her prints and the edition sizes remains a mystery to this day. They have always been a great value in today's market and are getting much more difficult to acquire.

The background is printed as a monotype which is highly unusual for the artist The margins are narrow and the condition is fine. This impression came from the estate of the artist. We sold this very impression back in the 1980s and are pleased to have it again.

The margins are narrow along the top and sides but we think this is the full, untrimmed sheet, as printed. This charming print is also quite rare. This is the first time we have had it.

The condition is fine apart from traces of old hinges at the top of the sheet. This lovely print is rich with embossing (gaufrage). Royds' prints are consistently well-crafted and inspired. She produced about twenty floral block prints in all and they remain fresh and appealing to this day.

The margins are full and the condition is fine. (There's a modest spot of printing ink in the image near the bottom.) Royds printed her own work and produced about sixty different images during her career. The floral prints were probably done between 1933-1938.

This is her largest woodcut. It's also extremely rare and we haven't seen this print for sale since the 1980s. Royds is best known for her floral prints and the Indian subjects. This is a remarkable and exciting departure.
