(The margins are narrow on the sides and bottom but this is the original sheet which she chose to print on.) The colors are especially fresh and there are no condition issues. This subtle, nicely-designed work is printed with more opaque colors than most of her block prints. Royds almost never dated her prints and the edition sizes remains a mystery to this day. They have always been a great value in today's market and are getting much more difficult to acquire. SOLD |

The condition is fine apart from traces of old hinges at the top of the sheet. This lovely print is rich with embossing (gaufrage). Royds' prints are consistently well-crafted and inspired. The margins are full. This is her largest woodcut. It's also extremely rare and we haven't seen this print for sale since the 1980s. Royds is best known for her floral prints and the Indian subjects.
